Types of ULIPs:

Guaranteed Returns (Not Linked to Markets) :

A Guaranteed Returns ULIP is a type of insurance policy that offers a guaranteed return on the investment component while also providing life insurance coverage. Unlike traditional ULIPs, which are subject to market risks, these plans ensure that the policyholder receives a predetermined amount upon maturity or in case of the policyholder's demise. One should carefully consider the returns, most of the policies give returns less than the returns of FDs.

Capital Guarantee Returns:

The primary feature of a Capital Guarantee ULIP is that it guarantees the return of the invested capital at the end of the policy term, regardless of market fluctuations. This means that the policyholder will receive at least the amount they invested, providing a safety net against market volatility.

Market Linked:
  • The investment portion of a ULIP is linked to the performance of financial markets. Policyholders can choose from a range of funds based on their risk appetite, including equity funds, debt funds, or balanced funds.
  • The returns on the investment are not guaranteed and depend on market performance
Market Linked with High Life Cover:
  • Similar to Market Linked ULIP but Provides substantial life insurance coverage, ensuring financial security for the policyholder's beneficiaries in the event of their untimely demise. But there is high chance that tax benefits might not be applied on High Life Cover ULIPs. Please check the tax benefits blog for more details.

It is important to carefully consider your financial goals, risk tolerance, and investment horizon before investing in ULIP to make the most of its benefits.
